Exhibit A of the Addendum details the cost for the Base Bid, With Allowance for
Environmental and the Alternate for Curb & Sidewalk Replacement. The low bidder on the project
was Indiana Earth, Incorporated at a total cost of $186,974.00.
The Redevelopment Commission has purchased five properties and cleared four of the properties
on the block area bound by Wayne, William, Western and Taylor described as the Coveleski
Housing Block ("Block"). The last property to clear on the Block is Fred's Transmission & Clutch
which the Commission has owned since January and did not become empty until April. With that
site cleared, all new curbs & walks will be constructed from the east-west alley south around the
entire southern end of the block. The alternate bid for the project would address the condition of the
curbs & sidewalks on the northern half of the block adjacent to the property the Commission owns
on that part of the block.
In the current budget, the Commission had allocated $150,000 to this demolition effort. Due to the
additional work that can be accomplished for and additional $37,000, staff will request approval to
award the amendment. The purpose of this Resolution and Addendum is to authorize the Board to
serve as our agent through the demolition project as well as to approve the total scope of work for
this project.
Staff requests approval of Resolution 2750 and the Addendum To Master Agency Agreement for the
Demolition of Fred's Transmission & Clutch and Restoration of Curb & Sidewalk of Coveleski
Housing Block.
What We Do Today Makes A Difference!
