On January 15, 2010, the Commission directed Staff to begin the statutory process to amend the Development Plan of this Area, to add properties to the acquisition list in two specific target areas. On May 21, 2010, the Commission approved Resolution No. 2688, and on June 04, 2010, the Commission approved Resolution No. 2692, each being a Declaratory Resolution to amend the Development Plan of this Area to allow for the acquisition and expenditure of funds on these various properties. On July 20, 2010, the St Joseph County Area Plan Commission, the official planning body for the City of South Bend, approved Resolution No. 210-10, which approved, ratified, and confirmed Resolution No. 2688 and Resolution No. 2692, deternlining that it conforms to the plan of development for the City. On July 26, 2010, the South Bend Common Council, the municipal legislative body for the City, approved Resolution No. 4040-10, which approved, ratified, and confirmed the Area Plan Commission's Resolution No. 210-10. The final process in amending the Development Plan to allow these acquisitions is the Confirming Resolution before you today. Staff requests Commission approval of Confirning Resolution No. 2736, which will allow for the acquisition of these properties, and the rehabilitation of the area where they are located.
