The sub -grant is in an amount not to exceed $160,000. The grant funds were awarded to the City of South Bend by the U.S. EPA. The remediation will address volatile organic compounds (VOCs); semi - volatile organic compounds (SVOCs); total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) and metals. Demolition of the former stamping plant took place during 2006 and 2007 and some remediation occurred at that time. However several portions of the site still need remediation. Results from this remediation will be included in the information we submit to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management as part of our Voluntary Remediation Plan workplan for Studebaker Area A Soils (VRP #6020803).
