The following quotes were given by the Park
Department's City Forester.
On May 9, 2010, the Commission approved the planting of 14 trees on the grassy lot at the
corner of Jefferson & Main. This simple act drew multiple compliments from area
businesses and passersby, as did the plantings along William Street. To continue our
efforts at this highly visible corner, staff would like to plant 18 Crabapple trees on the grassy
lot two lots south of the first one. Total cost, including the trees and their planting is $4,900.
The second area is the stretch of Jefferson / Wayne streets, west of the bridge (along the
"S" curve by Crowe). There are a total of 12 missing trees between the bridge and
Lafayette. Ash trees currently line Jefferson. Because of the Emerald Ash Borer, the new
trees will be Honey Locust. Included are two missing Pear trees on Wayne, between Main
and Lafayette. Total cost for this area is $4,100.
Total cost of these two quotes is $9,000. Staff requests your approval of these quotes, to
allow the Ciiy Forester to begin the planting of these trees.
What We Do Today Makes A Difference!
