~~C~~ <br />`:%c <br />:~ <br />Community & Economic Development <br />1200 County-City Building, 227 West Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana 46601-1830 Phone 574/235-9371 Fax 574/235-9021 <br />To: Redevelopment Commission <br />From: Bill Schalliol, Economic Development Planner <br />Subject: Oliver Industrial Park -Planning & Design Proposal <br />Date: April 19, 2010 <br />Attached is a proposal from Danch, Harner & Associates to provide a variety of planning <br />and design services related to planned improvements within and adjacent to the Oliver <br />Industrial Park on Chapin Street. <br />The scope of work proposed within this proposal would allow for planning and design for the <br />Oliver Chilled Plow Memorial Sculpture Plaza, incorporation of a pedestrian pathway <br />system through the park connecting the Arnold Street bike network corridor to the <br />Chapin/United Drive bike network corridor, and would plan and design park entry signage <br />for the industrial park. With the near completion of the Underground Pipe & Valve complex, <br />the work at the Kroc Center site north of the park, and the planned Ignition Park <br />development, it is time to complete the Oliver Industrial Park. <br />The proposal for the project is projected to be $32,535.00 with cost for Bidding & <br />Negotiation (Task 4) and Construction Inspection (Task 5) to be expensed at a time & <br />materials amount. Staff would propose approval of Tasks 1-4 at this time with aNot- <br />To-Exceed amount of $40,000.00. Staff would bring Task 5 back before the Commission <br />as part of a project proposal for the final development of the scope of work. <br />Staff requests Commission approval of this proposal. <br />What We Do Today Makes A Difference! <br />
