This process included the gathering of information on the parcels to be added, and an estimation of costs associated with the acquisition and redevelopment of these properties. This process has been completed, and its findings presented to the Commission. Attached to this memorandum is Resolution No. 2657, which is a Declaratory Resolution to amend the Development Plan for the AEDA . This Declaratory Resolution begins the process to amend the Development Plan to allow for the acquisition of these four target areas. Additionally, Resolution No. 2657 will confirm the legal description for the AEDA. After the merger of the AEDA and the old Sample Ewing Development Area with Resolution No. 2351 on July 20, 2007, there became some discrepancies in the legal description. This action will clarify and confirm those boundaries. Upon approval by the Commission, resolutions will be put before the Area Plan Commission and Common Council for their approval, before a Public Hearing and Confirming Resolution would be presented to the Commission for final approval. Approval for advertising for the Public Hearing is also requested of the Commission. Advertising would be done after approval from the Common Council is granted. Staff believes it would be of public utility and benefit to amend the Development Plan by adding these properties to the acquisition list and allowing these acquisitions. Staff requests Commission approval of Resolution No. 2657 and the necessary advertising to carry it through. What We Do Today Makes A Difference!
