~ (~~ <br />Community ~ Economic D e v e l o p m e n t <br />D i v i s i o n o f C o m m u n i t y D eve l o p m e n t <br />227 West Jefferson Blvd., 12"' Floor, South Bend, Indiana 46601-1830 Phone 574/235-9475 Fax 574/235-9469 <br />To: Redevelopment Commissioners & Staff <br />From: Jeff Vitton, Planner <br />Subject: Agency Agreement Re Parking Lot Removal (NW Corner of Bendix & Eclipse <br />Place) <br />Date: November 13, 2009 <br />Project Description: Removal of a 120,000 square feet city-owned asphalt parking lot south <br />and west of the propose Animal Control Facility on Eclipse Place. The parking lot has <br />frontage along the east-west portion of Bendix and is in general disrepair. The parking lot and <br />portions of a chain link fence will be removed to provide additional green space, <br />complementing surrounding park land (Kennedy Park). This project complements City Plan <br />by removing an impervious surface and reducing storm water run-off. <br />Scope of Work: The Board of Public Works, acting on behalf of the Redevelopment <br />Commission per the proposed Agency Agreement, will develop bidding specification, bid the <br />project per applicable statutes, award the project, and monitor construction/demolition <br />activities. The Board of Public Works will consult Catherine Toppel (Director of Code <br />Enforcement) and Jeff Vitton (representative of the Redevelopment Commission) for approval <br />of bidding specifications and change orders.
