Bendix <br />Date : October 20, 2009 <br />Per the LaSalle Square Area Redevelopment Plan and Resolution No. 2450 -placing 1007 N. Bendix <br />on the Acquisition List -staff requests the Commissions authorization to proceed with negotiations <br />to purchase the subject property. <br />For your information, 1007 N Bendix is currently a vacant commercial building and was recently a <br />restaurant known as Fernando"s. The subject property is north of the current entrance to LaSalle <br />Square, and is south of a vacant lot currently being used as the Urban Garden Market. The LaSalle <br />Square Area Redevelopment Plan calls for the subject property and properties to the north of the site <br />along Bendix to be redeveloped for commercial uses. The LaSalle Square Area Redevelopment Plan <br />maybe viewed online at www.southbendin.<~ovilasallesquare. <br />Please know that staff obtained (2) independent appraisals of the property in accordance with Indiana <br />Code ~ 36-7-1~19(b), which provide an average appraised value of the property of $137,000.00. <br />I will be available to answer any questions you may have at your upcoming meeting. <br />What We Do Today Makes A Difference <br />
