COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING July 24, 1967 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the <br />Whole in the Council Chambers in City Hall on Monday, July 24, 1967 at 8:00 P.M, with all members present. <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Edwin T. Smith, who presided. The invocation was given by <br />Reverend Benjamine 0. Berry, Grace A.M.E. Zion Church. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION <br />TO ACCOUNT MVH -52, "RENTS ", IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$17,500.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF THE SAME FROM <br />ACCOUNT MVH -72, "EQUIPMENT ", ALL BEING IN THE <br />MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY FUND. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents acid opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was Mr. Lloyd M. Taylor, <br />City Engineer. Councilman Hunter made ,a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Council- <br />man Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF FEES AND SALARIES COMMITTEE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on Fees and Salaries to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES OF APPOINTED <br />OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY FOR THE YEAR 1968 (Filed June 21, 1967) <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the Ordinance pertaining <br />to salaries which was filed July 10, 1967, be substituted for this Ordinance. <br />/s/ Janet S. Allen, Chairman <br />There being no objections, the report was accepted as read, and placed on file. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES OF APPOINTED <br />OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, FOR THE YEAR OF 1968 (Filed June 21, 1967) <br />Councilman Hunter made a motion that the above Ordinance be withdrawn. Councilman Allen seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />
