RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE'COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF
PUBLIC WORKS TO NEGOTIATE THE SALE OF A
CITY -OWNED LOT LOCATED AT 1118 McCARTNEY.
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City of
South Bend, pursuant to the Municipal Code of the City of
South Bend, Chapter 14.5, has offered for sale the following
described property:
Lot 53, 2nd Plat of the Northwest Addition,
at an offering price of $390.00; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City of
South Bend ha�neowreceived
foraa price of p$125h00e and property
at 1118 McCartney Street
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has now complied
with all requirements of the Municipal Code of the City for the
South Bend, Chapter 14.5, which establishes procedures
disposition of real property owned by the City of South Bend,
and more specifically real property valued by the Board at
less than 1,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of
the City of South Bend that:
SECTION I. The Board of Public Works be authorized to
negotiate a contract for the sale of
Lot 53, 2nd Plat of the Northwest Addition,
for a total price of One Hundred and Twenty -five Dollars ($125.00).
SECTION II. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council -and
approval by the Mayor.

On February 23, 1981, the Common Council approved the
sale of city -owned property at 1118 McCartney Street, pursuant
to Chapter 14.5 of the Municipal Code.
An appraisal of the property was made and an offering
price of $390.00 was established. The prospective purchaser „
has offered the sum of $125.00 for the property. It should
be noted that there is an accumulation of trash and debris
which has been dumped upon the lot, and the prospective
purchaser is willing to clean up the lot in order to buy
it at a lower price. He will be'- contacting the Neighborhood
Code Enforcement Office for assistance in hauling away the
debris.
The Board is desirous in placing this property back on
the tax rolls.
