JOSEPH COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, AND OTHER INVOLVED AGENCIES, TO CONTINUE TO MAKE ALL NECESSARY REPAIRS TO MAKE THE OLIVE - SAMPLE INTERSECTION SAFE FOR VEHICULAR AND PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC WHILE THE RAILROAD SEPARATION AND STREET INTERCHANGE PROJECT IS PENDING WHEREAS, the South Bend Common Council adopted Resolution No. 532 -76, on August 23, 1976, urging the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners to continue negotiations with the Indiana State Highway Commission on the Olive- Sample Streets Railroad Separation and Street Interchange Project. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 532 -76 requested all involved agencies to proceed ahead on the Olive - Sample Project with all deliberate speed." WHEREAS, the Olive- Sample Project is still pending yet hundreds of motor vehicles travel this intersection on a daily basis. WHEREAS, the South Bend Common Council urges all govermental bodies and persons charged with the maintenance of this heavily travelled intersection, to make all proper and necessary repairs to enable safe travel along this intersection and railroad cross ings while the project i•s pending. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: SECTION I. That the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners and other govermental agencies and persons charged with the main- tenance of the Olive - Sample Street Railroad Intersection, make all proper and necessary repairs to enable safe travel along this heavily used intersection. SECTION II. That the Common Council of the City of South Bend urges all concerned agencies and persons to continue to move ahead with the Olive- Sample Streets Railroad Separation and Street Interchange Project., a most needed project for our community. . SECTION III. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approved by the Mayor.
