A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING ST. JOSEPH
COUNTY COUNCILMAN, PHILLIP D. BARKLEY FOR HIS
PROMPT AND COURAGEOUS ACTION TO SAVE THE LIFE
OF AN INDIVIDUAL ON OCTOBER 26, 1981
WHEREAS, on October 26, 1981, an individual fell victim
to a cardiac arrest while in the County -City Building, and
WHEREAS, County Councilman Barkley assisted Councilman
McGann in administering CPR to the individual; and
WHEREAS, because of the efforts of County Councilman
Barkley, Corinne Wroblewski, Democratic Clerk of the Board of
Voter Registration for St. Joseph County, is alive today.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of
the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. The Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana, commends Phillip..D. Barkley,.St. Joseph County Councilman
for his courageous action in saving the life of Corinne Wroblewski,
Democratic Clerk of the Board of Voter Registration for St.
Joseph County on October 26, 1981.
SECTION II. The Common Council believes that the action
taken by County Councilman Barkley in an emergency situation,
exemplifies his great dedication to save life, and symbolizes the
highest degree of humanity possible.
SECTION III. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and
approved by the Mayor.
