Chamberlin, 574 -532 -5242, Lchamberksouthbendin.gov (add to e -mail list) Earnest calls meeting to order @ 6:43 p.m. Minutes Motion to accept minutes from 2/2/16, 1st- Becky, 2nd- Emily, 4 ayes New Business: Matt Harmon & Todd Howard were not able to make tonight's meeting due to a hoarding issue. Justice for animal protest, soon to address the failing court ruling system. The court can only issue a low level felony per state legislature, and maybe some probationary time (even if a police dog is injured). Back yard breeding is still a huge concern in the city but especially the county. *SBPD Officer J. Chamberlin suggest that the commission as well as SBACC get in contact with Cotter, & to pull from the state statue on back yard breeders. Also a suggestion by Chamberlin and Beck K. to have a roll call, a presentation explaining what SBPD can and can't do in regards to calls relating to animals. Combined with the commission and SBACC's Matt Harmon, arrange a time to meet.* Events Update: -Bark & Brew at the Century Center; topas to raise money for SBACC shelter, May 21St, 2016. - July 4th parade - Westside parade: SBACC has not participated in the past but would like to in 2016) Follow -Up on 2015 Report: Nothing from the City Council yet. Questions: Becky: Is dog fighting a felony? City ordinances should be applied to the county ordinances. J. Chamberlin: SBPD has never arrested anyone for dog fighting, We have talked to people who call to report dog fighting, when we check it out there is nothing. Becky K. suggests the certain elements that indicate dog fighting- Humane Society of the United States - Next Meeting: April 5th, 2016 MOTION TO ADJOURN: 1sT EMILY 2ND BECKY 4 AYES 7:15 P.M.
