RE: Request for Street Closure for Rally — Westmoor St. from Bendix Drive to 20' East
of Gate No. 9
Dear Mr. Rodgers:
The Board of Public Works approved your request for the above referenced street
closure on July 18, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., subject to the closure beginning 100'
east of Gate No. 9 to Bendix Dr. to allow a safe buffer for traffic in and out of the gate; and
subject to the UAW's best efforts to be respectful of Honeywell's property and attempting to
gain permission from Honeywell for use of their parking lot or property for the event, if
allowed by Honeywell. Should they agree to the request, the Board stated the street will not
be closed. Please contact our office at 235-9251 at least 48 hours in advance of the event to
allow Traffic and Lighting and Police Department time to schedule for closure of the street,
should the street still need to be closed.

This letter is to inform the Board of Public Works of our intentions to hold a rally on Westmoor St
on July 18`h 2016. The event would be held from 5 — 7 PM with set up starting at 3PM. We are asking to close
Westmoor St from Bendix to 20 feet East of Gate 9 at the Honeywell Aerospace facility. We do not want to
impede any of the company's traffic but want to close the street for the safety of the people attending the event.
This event is to inform and remind the community that Honeywell has "Locked Out" the members of
Local 9 UAW. Many people think this is a strike, or that our members walked out on their jobs. This is not the
case and we want to have the opportunity to explain that to the community by holding this gathering. It will be
attended by many members of the community, local elected officials and a variety of other Unions from around
the region. This will be a peaceful informative event.
I understand the timeliness of this application is not the best, but we will work with you in any way to
make this event happen and intend for it to be a success. Thank you for taking this matter into consideration and
