Agenda: Bill No. 29 -16 — Ignition Park Alley Vacation at
Sample / Garst & Lafayette /Franklin
Bill No. 26 -16 Addressing sidewalk accessibility near
sidewalk cafes
Committee Chair Jo M. Broden called the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee to
order with two (2) items on the agenda.
Due to the absence of two (2) committee members (Randy Kelly and Gavin Ferlic) there was no
quorum at this meeting.
Bill No. 29 -16 — Ignition Park Alley Vacation at Sample / Garst & Lafayette /Franklin
Mike Danch, 1643 Commerce Drive South Bend, served as the petitioner for this bill. There are
two (2) alleys on the block between Sample and Garst that will probably be the next lot for
Ignition Park. We have cleaned out this whole area and are trying to get it ready for
development.
No one from the public spoke either in favor of or in opposition to the bill.
Due to a lack of quorum no recommendation was given by the Committee.

Aladean DeRose, Legal Department with offices on the 12" Floor of the County -City Building,
served as the presenter and petitioner for this bill. This ordinance would essentially encapsulate
what the ADA requires, that there is five (5) feet between an outside barrier and table. Adding
this to our ordinance gives us the enforcement power through our licensing to remind the
restaurants that the space needs to be maintained.
No one from the public spoke either in favor of or in opposition to the bill.
Due to a lack of quorum no recommendation was given by the Committee.
With no further business before the Committee, Committee Chair Jo M. Broden adjourned the
meeting at 4:43 p.m.
