Martin, Clerk 1, REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 2,2009 The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 9:25 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2009,, with President Juanita Dempsey and Board Members Patrick Cottrell, Laura Vasquez, and Eddie Miller i resent. N W. r The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13th Floor, County City Building, South Bend, Indiana. ACCEPT MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS President Dempsey advised that if there were no objections by members of the Board, the minutes of the Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular Meetings of the Board held on August 12, 2009 would be accepted. POLICE DEPARTMENT REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 2 2009 57 by the Board. After review, upon a motion by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried, the request for a hearing was denied and the recommendation of Chief Boykins in his letter of August 24, 2009, was affirmed. The donation of $30.00 is to be shared between three shifts for their food fund at the request of the Station I I firefighters. There being no ffirther discussion, the donation was accepted and filed. PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR Board Member Pat Cottrell acknowledged and thanked the South Bend Fire Department, on behalf ofthe University of Notre Dame, for their assistance with a fire at the university. He noted the South Bend Fire Department has a team that specializes in close quarters that were able to contain the fire that the University's fire department was not able to reach.
