Chairperson Tim Scott called the meeting to order with eight (8) items on the agenda.
Both Chairperson Tim Scott and Santiago Garces went over the agenda items on the basics of
operating the iPads for councilmember usage. There was emphasis on having councilmembers
use iAnnotate for taking notes on their Council Packets to save paper and to also be more
responsive during the meetings. Chairperson Scott gave examples of how to look up key terms in
documents hundreds of pages long. Also, the City Clerk staff explained how the agendas now all
have links to the bills so councilmembers only have to open an agenda and not the entire packet.
Chairperson Scott explained how to use the Apple TV for presentations.
The Committee discussed the importance of keeping the data on Open Data as up to date as
possible for both residents and councilmembers. All council votes and attendance are posted
online as soon as possible for public inspection.
With no further items before the Committee, Chairperson Tim Scott adjourned the meeting at
6:27 p.m.
