,2009 with President Juanita Dempsey and Board Members Patrick D. Cottrell, Bruce BonDuran
Laura Vasquez, and Eddie Miller present. Also present were Police Chief Darryl Boykins, Fire Chi
Howard Buchanon, City Attorney Chuck Leone, and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. I
The meeting was held in the auditorium at the South Bend Police Department, 701 W. Sample
Street, South Bend,
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Board, President Dempsey declared the meeting
adjourned at 8:20 a.m.

REGULAR MEETING JULY 22, 2009
The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 918 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2009,
with President Juanita Dempsey and Board Members Patrick Cottrell, Bruce BonDurant, Laura
Vasquez, and Eddie Miller present. Also present were Police Chief Darryl Boykins, Fire Chief
Howard Buchanon and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar.
REGULAR MEETING
The meeting was held in the auditorium at the South Bend Police Department, 701 W. Sample
Street, South Bend, Indiana.
ACCEPT MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS
President Dempsey advised that if there were no objections by members of the Board, the minutes of
the Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular Meetings of the Board held on July 1,
2009 would be accepted.
ADOPT TAKE-HOME VEHICLE PROGRAM CONDITIONS
Upon a motion by Mr. BonDurant, seconded by Ms. Vasquez and carried, the Board adopted the
Take-Home Vehicle Program Conditions that sets up the limits and the conditions the City will pay
in regards to the take-home vehicles.
REVIEW OF POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICLE ACCIDENT COSTS
The Board accepted the Police Department Vehicle accident cost reports for filing. The reports show
the date, location, costs, parties, off-duty or on-duty status, and who was at fault for the accident for
the years 2004 - 2007.

President Dempsey indicated that unless there were questions or objections by members of the
