Chairperson Oliver Davis called the July 13, 2009 meeting of the Utilities Committee to
order at 3:49 p.m.
The following Committee Members were present:
Al "Buddy" Kirsits; Ann Puzzello
Other Councilmember's Present: Derek Dieter; David Varner; Henry Davis; Timothy A.
Rouse; Karen White
Other's Present: Mayor Luecke; Jack Dillon; Gary Gilot; Rita Kopala; Jeff Parrot;
Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand; Martha Lewis; Kim Thompson
Agenda: Bill No. 47-09 -Amend Code -Inflow to Sanitary Sewer System
Bill No. 47-09 as explained by Jack Dillon, the Director of the Waste Water Treatment
Plant, was meant to amend South Bend's relevant codes. These changes were required
by the Environmental Protection Agency to keep in compliance with clear water inputs to
the sewer system. This would keep current the city's National Pollutant Discharge
Permit.
After brief discussion a motion to send favorably was made by Councilmember Puzzello,
seconded by Councilmember Kirsits, and agreed to by all.
There being no further business to come before the committee, Chairperson Rouse
adjourned the meeting at 4:00 p.m.
