AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $160,000 FROM
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND
(FUND #288) FOR THE FUNDING OF NEW EQUIPMENT
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
It has become necessary to defray expenses within the
emergency medical service capital improvement budget with an
appropriation of One Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars ($160,000.00)
from Emergency Medical Services Capital Improvement Fund (Fund
#288) in order to fund the purchase of a new ambulance, and one
(1) Thermal Imaging Camera.
The City has continued to generate increased revenue from
the emergency medical services bureau to support the capital
needs of both the Fire Department and its emergency medical
services operations. This appropriation has been included in the
department's projections, as well as its five-year Capital
Improvement plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. The following sum of money is hereby
appropriated and ordered set apart from Emergency Medical
Services Capital Improvement Fund (Fund #288) for the items set
forth below:

the Mayor.

I am attaching for filing an ordinance appropriating $160,000 from the Emergency Medical
Services Capital Improvement Fund--#288, to fund the purchase of a new ambulance, and one
(1) Thermal Imaging Camera. This camera will allow firefighters to see through heavy smoke to
identify trapped victims in burning structures.
The funds are available and should be appropriated to the following line item accounts:

Purchase of One (1) Heavy Duty Ambulance
2. Acct. #288-0902-422~~Q5 $ 30,000
Purchase of one (1) Thermal Imaging Camera
