AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $749,618 AMONG
VARIOUS ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF
COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to assure the efficient and timely utilization of Community Development Block
Grant Funds transfers among accounts are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of $749,618 is hereby transferred among accounts as set forth
below.
Reduce the following accounts:

the Common Counc' approval by the Mayor.

Dear Council Member:
The attached bill for your consideration and approval will transfer a total of $749,619 in
Community Development Block Grant funds remaining at program end. This action
complements the appropriation of $3,500,000 in 1998 Community Development Block Grant
funds and together they allocate funds in accordance with the 1998 Housing and Community
Development Plan.
As we discussed with the Community & Economic Development Committee on September
29th, the 1998 HCD Plan underwent a 30-day public comment period in October. In addition,
the 1997 HCD Plan was the subject of two public hearings held on October 9, 1997.
Comments received during the comment period and public hearings were taken into
consideration in developing the final 1998 HCD Plan.
