AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COIINCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOIITH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 8723-96
TO DECREASE THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE MOTOR VEHICLE
HIGHWAY FIIND FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING
JANIIARY 1, 1997 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1997
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
It is necessary to pass this Ordinance in order to decrease
the appropriation for the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund which was
included in Ordinance Number 8823-96. This decrease is
necessitated by a reduction in the State Gasoline Tax distribution
for 1998.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I: For the fiscal year ending December 31, 1997, the
following reductions are made to the following accounts:
Account Reduction
202-0607-431-10.01 $50,000.00
202-0607-431-37.02 $50,000.00
$100,000.00
Section II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by
the Mayor.

Attached for filing are two Ordinances which decrease the
appropriation for the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund for the fiscal
years 1997 and 1998, respectively. This decrease is necessitated
by a reduction in the State Gasoline Tax distribution for 1998.
