The Board of Public Safety met in the Public Agenda Session at 8:03 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1,
2009 with President Juanita Dempsey and Board Members Patrick D. Cottrell, Bruce BonDurant,
'I'MR4WRI"Camfiller cresent.
Bo Laura Vas,,ivuez was absent. Also yresent were Police Chief
Darryl Boykins, ire Chief Howard Buchanon, and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar.
The meeting was held at the South Bend Fire Department, Classroom, 1222 S. Michigan Street,
South Bend, Indiana.
Board members discussed the following items from that list:

There being no further business to come before the Board, President Dempsey declared the meeting
adjourned at 8:17 a. m.

The meeting was held at the South Bend Fire Department, Classroom, 1222 South Michigan Street,
South Bend, Indiana.
ACCEPT MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS
President Dempsey advised that if there were no objections by members of the Board, the minutes of
the Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular Meetings of the Board held on June 10,
2009 would be accepted with the one change noted.
ACCEPT RESIGNATION - TIMOTHY HUFF
In a letter to the Board, Chief Boykins advised the Board he is in receipt of a letter of resignation
from Corporal Timothy Huff in which he tenders his resignation from the South Bend Police

Department, effective June 26, 2009. Chief Boykins stated in his letter, that Corporal Huff was
sworn in the Department on August 159 1996. Upon a motion made by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Mr.
BonDurant and carried, the resignation was accepted.
ACCEPT AND FILE DONATION TO SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT
Chief Boykins, Police Department, advised the Board of a generous donation made to the So
Bend Police Department. The donation of cell phone accessories (stickers, jewels, hangers) w
received from Dave Sult. There being no further discussion, the donations were accepted and file]
FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS REPORT — MAY 2009
President Dempsey indicated that unless there were questions or objections by members of the
Board, the monthly statistical report for the month of May 2009 as submitted by the Police
Department, would be accepted for filing.
