AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
APPROPRIATING $173,000 FOR CAPITAL EXPENDITURES
FROM THE PARKS AND RECREATION FUND
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The South Bend Park Department anticipates making a
variety of capital improvements to its various facilities and
capital inventory during fiscal year 1998 and has determined that
it is necessary and appropriate to make payment of these expenses
and to appropriate sufficient funds to do so, and that it is in the
best interests of the City that the same occur.
It is necessary to make this appropriation in advance of
the capital appropriation for the entire City due to the timing of
the proposed projects and purchases.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I . That the amount of $ 173, 000 shall be and
hereby is appropriated in 1998 and ordered set apart within the
Parks and Recreation Fund (Fund No.201).
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and
approval of the Mayor.

by the South Bend Parks & Recreation Department to appropriate $173,000 for

5-9 i 1-i and place a timely order for golf carts ($125,000). We are requesting this
appropriation prior to the City's capital appropriation in order to, first, be able to
Forester purchase materials for our employees to begin these projects as early as possible
