Agenda: Bill No. 25-09 -Appropriation to Clean Anaerobic Digesters at Waste Water
Treatment Plant
Chairperson Oliver Davis called upon the Director of Public Works, Gary Gilot to explain the
purpose of the request. Gary explained that two of the four digesters in operation since the
Waste Water Treatment Plant was opened in the mid-1950's needed cleaning to operate
efficiently. The two digesters in question are filled with a heary cement-like gritty sludge that has
accumulated over a 50+ year period and now needs to be cleaned out.
Councilmember AI Kirsits recommended the bill go to Council favorably. Ann Puzzello seconded
the motion and all concurred.
There being no further business to come before the Committee at this time, Chairperson Oliver
Davis adjourned the meeting at 4:06 p.m.
