The Board of Public Safety met *n the Pubfic Agenda Sess'on at 8.-00 a.m. on Wednesday, aren 8.
2009 with Board President Juanita Dempsey and Board Members Patrick D. Cottrell and Bruce
Bon Durant present. Also present were Police Chief Darryl Boykins, Fire Chief Howard Buchanon
and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar.

The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 9.-15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2009
with Board President Juanita Dempsey, and Board Members Patrick D. Cottrell and Bruce
BonDurant present. Also present were Police ChiefDarryl Boykins, Fire Chief Howard Buchanon
and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar.
The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13t" Floor, County City
Building, South Bend, Indiana.
APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Board President Juanita Dempsey advised that if there were no objections by members of the Board,
the minutes of the Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular meetings of the Board
held on February 27, 2009 would be accepted with the noted corrections.
ACCEPT AND FILE DONATION
In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Darryl Boykins advised the Board of a generous donation from
the Walmart ° Store, 700 W. Ireland Rd., South Bend, Indiana of three large pass c bags of plush
animals. The donation is for youth victims of crime and community outreach. There being no further
discussion, the donation was accepted and filed.
ACCEPT AND FILE DONATION
In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Darryl Boykins advised the Board of a generous donation from
Lock Joint Tube LL C in the amount of $250.00. The donation is for the South Bend Police
Department Summer Tennis Program. There being no further discussion, the donation was accepted
and filed.

President Dempsey indicated that unless there were questions or objections by members of the
Board, the statistical report for the month of February 2009 as submitted by the Police Dqpartment,
