Bill No. 14-09 - 2009 Capital Appropriations
Bill 14-09, At Chairperson Ann Puzzello's request, City Controller Catherine Fanello
described the essence of the appropriation request. She stated the money requested
was not from property tax; but from user fees, which by their nature hold no cash
reserves. Due to the seasonal nature of many Park activities it was essential these
capital improvements be started now. The amount, just over $518,000, comes from five
separate funds.
Betsy Harriman and Susan O'Connor from the Parks presented some detail about the
proposed expenditures and answered specific Council questions.
On a motion by Councilmember AI "Buddy" Kirsits, and a second by Councilmember
Oliver Davis, supported by all, the bill was sent to Council favorably.
There being no further business to come before the committee, Chairperson Puzzello
adjourned the meeting at 3:30 p.m.
