Becky: Brings up dog bite case, the ongoing drama, wants to drop it, and asks Erny what we can
do.
Ernest: Legally out of our hands
Becky: Landscaping Sept. 18th @ Shelter
: can drop off week before
Emily: Oberlin case notice
Erny: Has updated notice to be dated 8/4 or 8/5 and get sent out
Becky: Dog held in custody 4+ months
- no updated case
Erny: Who handles more serious cases?
Becky: Pam Wislowski Michiana Feral cat initiative
Issue with Police Dept., some dog & cat friendly, but a lot of cases are going out and not
taking report
Betsy Culp: ask to file a Code 2 if an officer won't take a report
Becky: New protocol for lost and found pets- will email commission
Ernest: 4 -H Fair Exotic Animal exhibits
Todd: Spoke highly of event, all permits and taken care of
Becky: Asks Todd about any upcoming cases
Todd: More investigating. Conclusion of meeting? 10 days prior to meeting
Becky: -Micro Chip: Oct. 3rd, need volunteers event
-Rain dog parade: first Friday at night
-No flee market Aug. 29th Art Beat
Betsy: Micro Chip event?
Todd: About 120
Becky: Saint Adalbert is sponsoring spay /neuter volunteers
Sales Pitch: Vets will make relationships with lower income neighborhoods and hopefully those
people will call the vets when they need a cone
Todd: Mica Cox & Amy Cressy in prosecutors deal with criminal cases
Betsy, Todd, and Becky: File a report with Police by saying, "I want to report stolen property."
Becky: Lost and found pets of South Bend, has returned over 30 dogs in last few months
Next meeting: Sept. Ist @ 6:30 p.m.
