A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL AUTHORIZING
THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS
TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE U. S . SMALL
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
WHEREAS, the U. S . Small Business Administration was recently
authorized to provide funds for the rehabilitation of public parks
and recreation areas and only projects whose primary focus is land-
scaping are eligible for funding; and
WHEREAS , funds for landscaping for the East Race Project
have been deleted because of budgetary reductions and said landscaping
is essential for the final completion of the East Race Project .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows :
SECTION I . The President of the Board of Park Commissioners
has the authority to file a grant application with the U. S . Small
Business Administration to provide landscaping funds for the East Race
Project.
SECTION II . This resolution shall be in full force and
effect after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the
Mayor.
