WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, has a continuing interest in the economic strength and development of this community; and WHEREAS, a primary method of increasing economic strength and development is the attraction of new business and industry to the area; and WHEREAS, the Lieutenant Governor' s office has developed a new program entitled Registered Cities and Towns Program, that should prove useful in attracting new business and industry to the area; and WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is the chief executive officer of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: SECTION I . That the City of South Bend pledges its full sup- port and cooperation to the Registered Cities and Towns Program. SECTION II. That the Mayor of the City of South Bend is here- by authorized to submit the survey information requested by the Registered Cities and Towns Program. SECTION III. That the Mayor of the City of South Bend is hereby authorized to participate fully in the Registered Cities and Towns program. SECTION IV. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
