A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
PUBLICLY COMMENDING THE ST. ANTHONY DE PADUA VARSITY VOLLEYBALL
PANTHER TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2006/2007 INTER-CITY CATHOLIC LEAGUE (ICCL)
CHAMPIONSHIP
~l~.~aa, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is proud to recognize that
St. Anthony De Padua School is located at 2310 East Jefferson Boulevard in South Bend; and provides
excellent educational opportunities for students from kindergarten through the 8t" grade; and
~~tn~reua, the Council notes that St. Anthony's is associated with the National Catholic
Educational Association which is affiliated with the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend and "is
committed to academic excellence which fosters the intellectual development of faculty and students"
in a "nurturing environment" where there is a "challenging academic atmosphere"; with St. Anthony's
Mission Statement stating that the school "develops life-long learners who live their faith through
stewardship and are committed to Catholic values and academic excellence; and
Gv/~~eao, the South Bend Common Council would especially like to publicly recognize
Principal Martha Lewallen, Assistant Principal Donna Hemmerlein, Head Coach Polly
Pajakowski, Assistant Head Coach Peg Dalton, and Assistant Coach Chris Pajakowski and the
following student-athletes, along with their parents and teachers of the St. Anthony de Padua School
and all of the individuals and fans associated with the 2006/2007 St. Anthony de Padua Varsity
Volleyball Team who won the 2006/2007 Inter-City Catholic League (ICCL) Championship by
posting a 52-1 game record and a perfect 26-0 match record:

Section I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Common
Council hereby congratulates each and every student-athlete of the 2006/2007 St. Anthony de Padua
Varsity Volleyball Panther Team who won the 2006/2007 Inter-City Catholic League (ICCL)
Championship.
Section II. The South Bend Common Council believes that the hard-work, discipline, and
dedication of the student-athletes on the 2006/2007 ST. ANTHONY DE PADUA VARSITY
VOLLEYBALL TEAM has enabled each of these student-athletes to be excellent role models, whose
skills both on and off the volleyball court has brought the highest of honors to each of them, their
family and friends, St. Anthony De Padua School and their alum, the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South
Bend, and the residents of the City of South Bend. Their superb volleyball skills shown through their
volleys, attacks and smashes, and the life-experiences of working together as a team, along with their
continued academic excellence, will prepare all of these youth to be leaders of tomorrow.
Section III . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the
