RESOLUTION NO. 2560
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICA"PION FOR
PERSONAL PROPERTY "TAX DEDUCTION
W IIEREAS, LC. 6- L 1-12.1-2(1) provides that an application for property tax deduction may
not be approved when the property is located in an allocation area as defined in 1.C. 36-7-]4-39,
unless the Redevelopment Commission which designated that allocation area adopts a resolution
appro~~ing that application; and
WIIF_;REAS, the South Bcnd Common Council has received a petition for (5) five years of
personal property tax abatement consideration from Royal Holdings, Inc. d.b.a. Royal Adhesives for
real property located at 2001 West Washington Street in the West Washington-Chapin Dcvclopmcnt
Area, the development area location and legal description of which are attached hereto, marked
Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, this Commission declared the West Washington-Chapin Dcvclopmcnt Area by
Resolution No. 818, adopted October 23, 1987, and in the same resolution declared the West
Washington-Chapin Development Arca Allocation Area (South Bend Allocation Area No. 7) and
WHEREAS, the property located at 2001 West Washington Street is located within West
Washington-Chapin Development Arca Allocation Area;
NOW,I~HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the South Fiend Rcdcvelopment Commission
as follows:
1) The Commission finds that the application from Royal Holdings, Inc. d.b.a. Royal
Adhesives for (5) five years of personal property tax abatement consideration for propcrry located at
2001 Wcst Washington Street in the West Washington-Chapin Development Arca Allocation Arca
should be and is hereby approved.
2) That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the South Fiend Common Council to
indicate the Commission's approval of the petition for personal property tax abatement for Royal
Holdings, Inc. d.b.a. Royal Adhesives .
Approved this 6th day of February, 2009, at the regular meeting of the South Bcnd
Rcdcvelopment Commission.
