A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS
WITHIN THE CITY COMMONLY KNOWN AS 710 SOUTH
RUSH STREET AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA FOR
PURPOSES OF PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT.
WHEREAS, a petition for personal property tax
abatement consideration has been filed with the Common Council
of the City of South Bend, requesting that the area commonly
known as 710 South Rush Street, South Bend, Indiana, and which
is more particularly described as follows:
A parcel of property in St. Joseph County
(sometimes known as Monroe-Sample Disposi-
tion Parcel No. 4) more particularly de-
scribed as follows:
Lots Numbered Seventy-five (75) ,
Seventy-six (76) , Seventy-seven (77) ,
Seventy-eight (78) , Seventy-nine (79) ,
Eighty (80) , Eighty-one (81) , Eighty-two
(82) , Eighty-three (83) , Eighty-four (84) ,
Eighty-five (85) , Eighty-six (86) , Eighty-
seven (87) , Eighty-eight (88) , Eighty-nine
(89) , Ninety (90) in Rush' s Fourth Addition
to the City of South Bend, as found in Plat
Book 4 , page 54; ALSO Lots Numbered One Hun-
dred Forty-seven (147) , One Hundred Forty-
eight (148) , One Hundred Thirty-nine (139)
and One Hundred Forty (140) in Edward H.
Rush's First Addition to the City of South
Bend as found in Plat Book 7 , page 8 in the
Office of the Recorder of St. Joseph County,
Indiana.
DESCRIBED MORE SPECIFICALLY AS FOL-
LOWS: The commencing point being at the
Northwest corner of Lot 75 in said Rush ' s
4th Addition; thence South 0°04 ' East 419 .9
feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 148 in
said Edward H. Rush' s First Addition; thence
South 89°49 ' East 254. 1 feet to the South-
east corner of Lot 140 in said Edward H.
Rush 's First Addition; thence 0°03 ' West
419. 9 feet to the Northeast corner of Lot 83
in said Rush ' s 4th Addition; thence North
89°49 ' West 254. 2 feet to the point of com-
mencing . EXCEPT all North-South and East-
West alleys between said lots.
be designated as an Economic Revitalization Area under the
provisions of Indiana Code 6-1.1-12. 1-1, et seq. ; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission has concluded an
investigation and prepared a report with information sufficient
for the Common Council to determine that the area qualifies as
an Economic Revitalization Area under Indiana Code 6-1. 1-12. 1-1,
et seq. , and has further prepared maps and plats showing the
boundaries and such other information as required by law of the
area in question; and
WHEREAS, the Human Resources and Economic Development
Committee of the Common Council has reviewed said report and
recommended to the Common Council that the area qualifies as an
Economic Revitalization Area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council
of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. That the Common Council hereby accepts the
report and recommendation of the Human Resources and Economic
Development Committee that the area herein described be desig-
nated an Economic Revitalization Area and hereby adopts a reso-
lution designating this area as an Economic Revitalization Area
for purposes of personal property tax abatement.
SECTION II. That this designation shall be limited to
five (5) calendar years from the date of the adoption of this
Resolution by the Common Council.
SECTION III . That the Common Council directs the City
Clerk to cause notice of the adoption of this resolution to be
published , said publication providing notice of the public
hearing before the Common Council on said declaration.
SECTION IV. This Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council
and approval by the Mayor.
