A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY COMMONLY
KNOWN AS 851 S. Marietta Avenue AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION
AREA FOR PURPOSES OF REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT.
WHEREAS, a petition for real property tax abatement consider-
ation has been filed with the Common Council of the City of South
Bend, requesting that the area commonly known as 851 S. Marietta
Avenue , South Bend, Indiana, and which is more particularly
described by a line drawn as follows :
A parcel of land being a part of Lots 91-98 and 99-106 J. Rush' s
4th Addition, and part of Lots 124 , 125, and 132, E.H. Rush' s
Addition, City of South Bend, Indiana, and being more particularly
described as follows :
Beginning at the intersection of the new South right-of-way
line of Bronson Street ( 60 feet R/W) and the centerline of
the now vacated Clinton Street; thence South 89 . -49 ' 00" East
along the new South right-of-way line of Bronson Street ( 60
feet R/W) , a measured distance of 249 . 00 feet ; thence South
44 .-56 ' 31" East, a measured distance of 28 . 35 feet to the
new West right-of-way line of Marietta Street ( 60 R/W) ; thence
South 0.-03 ' 24 " East along said West right-of-way line of
Marietta Street, a measured distance of 359 .00 feet; thence North
89 .- 49 ' 00" West, a measured distance of 269 . 02 feet to the
centerline of the now vacated Clinton Street; thence North
0 ' -03 ' 24 " West along said centerline of now vacated Clinton
Street , a measured distance of 379 . 00 feet to the place of
beginning containing 2. 3361 acres more or less .
be designated as an Economic Revitalization Area under the provisions
of Indiana Code 6-1. 1-12 . 1-1, et seq. ; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission has concluded an in-
vestigation and prepared a report with information sufficient for the
Common Council to determine that the area qualifies as an Economic
Revitalization Area under Indiana Code 6-1. 1-12 . 1-1, et . seq. , and
has further prepared maps and plats showing the boundaries and such
other information as required by law of the area in questions ; and
WHEREAS , the Human Resources and Economic Development
Committee of the Common Council has reviewed said report and
recommended to the Common Council that the area qualifies as an
Economic Revitalization Area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows :
SECTION I . That the Common Council hereby accepts the report
and recommendation of the Human Resources and Economic Development
Committee that the area herein described be designated an Economic
Revitalization Area and hereby adopts a resolution designating this
area as an Economic REvitalization Area for purposes of real
nronerty tax ahatamant
