The Board noted all of the quotes were above the City’s quote threshold. Upon a motion made by
Ms. Maradik, seconded by Mr. Relos and carried, the above Quotations were referred to
Wastewater for review and recommendation. After reviewing those quotations, Mr. Jacob
Klosinski, Wastewater, recommended that the Board waive the City threshold of $75,000.00 for
a quote and award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Herrman &
Goetz, Inc., 225 South Lafayette Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana 46601, in the amount of
$85,249.00. Mr. Klosinski noted it is in the best interest of the City to do all of the boilers at one
time for a cost savings. He noted also that he is working on an opportunity for a grant to help
cover the expense. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted,
and the Board waive the irregularity and the quotation be awarded as outlined above, subject to
approval of the Controller. Mr. Relos seconded the motion, which carried.
