CRONE FOR HER DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE AS A SOUTH BEND COUNCILMAN-AT-LARGE WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, recognizes that Beverly D. Crone has diligently served the citizens of South Bend as a Councilman-at-Large since January 1, 1980; and WHEREAS, as Chairman of the Council's Personnel and Finance committee in the early 1980's she earned a reputation of meticulously reviewing all municipal budgets for possible tax savings; and WHEREAS, Councilman Crone authored the sewage insurance rate reduction ordinance which resulted in savings to residential customers yet maintained the fiscal integrity of the program and the Older Adult Council for the City; and WHEREAS, Councilman Crone will long be remembered as a person who stands up and fights for what she believes in. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: SECTION I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council hereby publicly commends and thanks Beverly D. Crone for her dedicated public service as a Councilman-at-large. SECTION II. The Common Council publicly acknowledges Councilman Crone's contributions to help improve the City of South Bend, and wishes her continued success as she serves as County Auditor for St. Joseph County.
