A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE ADOPTION OF A
DECLARATORY RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN
AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, COM-
MONLY KNOWN AS 2001 WEST WASHINGTON STREET
TO BE AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA FOR
PURPOSES OF REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend
has adopted a Declaratory Resolution designating certain areas
within the City as Economic Revitalization Areas for the pur-
pose of tax abatement consideration; and
WHEREAS, a Declaratory Resolution designated the area
commonly known as 2001 West Washington Street and more parti-
cularly described as follows :
Parcel I Lots Numbered 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 44 , 45, 46 ,
47, and 48 as shown on the recorded Plat of
College Grove, as platted by Benjamin Winans , mow
a part of the City of South Bend together with
vacated Johnson Street lying between said lots
29 , 30, 31, 32 , 46 , and 47; also together with
vacated Brookfield Street lying between said lots
29, 32, 28, 33, 44, and 45; together with vacated
Colfax Street lying between lots 31, 47, 48 , 32 ,
46 , 45, 44 , lot 33 of said College Grove Addition
and Lot Numbered 1 as shown on the recorded Plat
of Hosinski ' s Subdivision of Lot 43 College Grove .
Parcel II Lots Numbered 1, 2 , 3 , 4 , and 5 as shown on the
recorded Plat of Hosinski ' s Subdivision of Lot
Numbered 43 of College Grove Addition, now a part
of the City of South Bend.
Parcel III Tract designated "A" as shown on the recorded
Plat of Clement Studebaker ' s Oak Grove Subdivi-
sion, now a part of the City of South Bend.
Parcel IV Vacated Grant Street lying between Tract desig-
nated "A" as shown on the recorded Plat of
Clements Studebaker ' s Oak Grove Subdivision and
Lots Numbered 30, 31, and 48 as shown on the
recorded Plat of College Grove, as platted by
Benjamin Winans .
Parcel V The vacated north-south alley lying between Lot
Numbered 44 of College Grove Addition and Lots
Numbered 1, 2 , 3 , and 5 of Hosinski ' s Subdivision.
as an Economic Revitalization Area; and
WHEREAS, notice of the adoption of a Declaratory Reso-
lution and the public hearing before the Council has been pub-
lished pursuant to Indiana Code 6-1 . 1-12 , 1-2-5 ; and
WHEREAS, the Council held a public hearing for the
purposes of hearing all remonstrances and objections from
interested persons; and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the qualifi-
cations for an economic revitalization area have been met .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council
of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows :
SECTION I . That the Common Council hereby confirms
its Declaratory Resolution designating the area described here-
in as an Economic Revitalization Area for the purposes of tax
abatement. Such designation is for real property tax abatement
only and is limited to five (5) calendar years from the date of
adoption of the Declaratory Resolution by the Common Council .
SECTION II . This Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council
and approval by the Mayor .
