ORDINANCE NO_ of v.e.
AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPANY
TO MAINTAIN A WATCHMAN AT THE fINTERSECTION OF TRUEST
DIVISION STREET AND 304TH WALNUT STREET FOR 24
HOURS EACH DAY AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT THEREWITH
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana.
SECTION 1.
That the New York Central Railroad Company be, and it-
is hereby, recuired. to maintain a watchman continuously for (24-
hours each day at the intersection of its right-of-way with West
Division Street and South Walnut Street in the City of South
Bend, Indiana,
SECTION 2.
That all Ordinances heretofore enacted relating to the
establishment and maintenance of gates at said intersection and
crossing are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3.
Section One
Any vio ation of the foregoing Ordinance shall subject
said Railroad Company to a penalty of not less than Fifty Dollars
($50.00) and each day' s violation thereof shall constitute a
separate and distinct offense.
SECTION 4.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and legal publication.
