Mayor NO. 1455-86 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING THE SCHOOL OFFICIALS AT STANLEY CLARK SCHOOL FOR BEING SELECTED AS AN "EXEMPLARY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE" BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION WHEREAS, the Cannon Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana notes that the U.S. Department of Education selected sixty (60) non-public schools for the "Exemplary Elementary School of Excellence" awards for 1986; and WHEREAS, the Council for American Private Education reviewed all of the applications and conducted on-site reviews for the final selection process; and WHEREAS, the Cannon Council takes great pride in acknowledging that the Stanley Clark School was selected by the U.S. Department of Education as an "Exemplary Elementary School of Excellence" and received national television and media coverage; and WHEREAS, the Council wishes to commend Donald R. Rawson, Headmaster; John H. Fannin, Assistant Headmaster; and all of the teachers and staff members at the Stanley Clark School for their leadership abilities and academic achievements in having their school selected as an "Exemplary Elementary School of Excellence". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: SECTION I. On behalf of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Cannon Council hereby publicly commends the Stanley Clark School, Mr. Donald R. Rawson, Headmaster; Mr. John H. Fannin, Assistant Headmaster; and all of the teachers and staff members. SECTION II . The Cannon Council believes that the Stanley Clark School is an excellent example of the quality private education which should be emulated by educators, and wish the school continued success in the future.
