Let's Celebrate!
The City of South Bend is supporting the Diversity Purchasing Ordinance to promote business with minority and women owned- businesses. We are
pleased to report that several businesses were included in the procurement process by submitting bids, quotes or proposals. Some M /WBEs received
awards or Purchase Orders as a result of their efforts. Below is a summary of minority and women owned - businesses activity with the City. The M /WBEs
listed below may also include businesses not registered with the Indiana Department of Administration (IDOA).
A Thank YOU and Congratulations to those City Departments supporting this program!
Street, Traffic Lighting, Division
• SC Supply Company (WBE) quoted on two supply orders. Both were awarded to them.
• The Hoosier Company (WBE - Indianapolis) quoted on, and was awarded a supply order for $4832.00.
Environmental Services
• AFC International (WBE from DeMotte, IN) was awarded a Services Contract for $646.00.
• Kerimida (WBE from South Bend) was awarded a Services Contract for $5400.00.
• American Demolition Corporation (MBE from Elgin IL) was awarded a $347,000 construction bid.
• Dudeck Roofing (MBE) was awarded a contract for $2125.00.
• Frazier Motorsports (WBE) was issued a PO for $168.00 for supplies.
• VTI, Inc. (M /WBE) was awarded PO for $3120.00.
Water Works
• SC Supply Company participated in a quote process for uniforms.
• Included Frazier Motorsports (WBE from South Bend) in the quote process. They received the quote award.
City Activities
* In collaboration with St. Mary's College and The Indiana Department of Administration (IDOA), the City of South Bend hosted a lunch for the Annual
North Central Business Conference. The Conference was held on June 10th at St. Mary's College. Kara Boyles (Deputy Director of Public Works) and
George King (Purchasing Manager) presented at the conference on "How to do Business with the City."
* All City Departments are now collecting and recording data conducted with M /WBE's. This data was used to report the business conducted by the City
in this newsletter. This data expands the reporting to include M /WBE's that are both registered and not registered with the IDOA.
* Mandy Gallagher (Diversity Compliance Officer) and George King (Purchasing Manager) set up a booth at the City's Cinco de Mayo celebration in Rum
Village to meet with various business and discuss how to do business with the City and encourage the businesses to become registered thru the IDOA.
* Mandy Gallagher resigned her position as the Diversity Compliance Officer of the City to pursue another opportunity working with youth and associated
job placement opportunities in her home state of Pennsylvania. We wish Mandy the best of luck, and thank her for her accomplishments, including but
not limited to, educating City Departments on the Diversity Program, initiating data collection regarding inclusion of M /WBE's in the City's procurement
processes, and establishing this newsletter. Recruitment for the Diversity Compliance Officer position will begin in August.

On 7/1/15, a total of 22 M /WBEs were registered with the IDOA in the counties surrounding St. Joseph
County (regional).
Diversity Utilization Board Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each
month in the County -City Building from 5:30 PM — 6:30 PM. (4`h or 13 `h Floor)
