An Ordinance ratifying a certain contract between the City of
South Bend, Indiana, by and through its Board of Public Works,
and the Lynchburg Foundry Company, Lynchburg, Virginia, for the
purchase of Cast Iron Pipe.
Be it ordained by the Common Council of
the City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION 1. That a certain contract executed
on the 3rd day of January, 1930, by and between the City of South
Bend, via through its Board of Public Works for the purchase of
Fifteen Hundred (1500) tons of 6" to 24" Cast Iron Water Pipe, Class
"C" American Water Works specifications, with the privilege of in-
creasing or decreasing the above requirement within a range of 30%,
all as evidenced by a certain letter, herewith attached, from the
Lynchburg Foundry Company, January 29th, 1930, and a resolution
accepting the offer contained in the same letter adopted February 3rd,
and that the same as hereby ratified, confirmed and approved.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage.

Gentlemen:
Confirming our conversation of yesterday at your office at South Bend,
we are entering your order covering requirements for the year 1930,
as follows:

1500 Tons Cl. "0" 6" to 24" Cast Iron B&S Water Pipe 12' Q $44.70
per net ton. 16 foot lengths in sizes 6" to 12" incl., $1.00 per
net ton additional, 6" to 24" Std. Fittings, subject to Std. differ-
entials. $107.00 per net ton.
The above prices being f.o.b. our foundry with freight allowed to
South Bend, Indiana, in carload lot, and subject to a thirty percent
(30%) increase or decrease.
ALTERNATE
1000 Tons Cl. "C" 6" to 24" Cast Iron B&S Water Pipe 12. 0" $44.70
per net ton. 16 .foot lengths in sizes 6" to 12" incl., $1.00 per net
ton additional,6" to 24" Std. Fittings, subject to Std. differentials
$107.00 per net ton.
The above prices being f.o.b. our foundry with freight allowed to
South Bend, Indiana, in carload lot, and subject to a fifteen percent
(15%) increase or decrease.
Shipments to be made during the year 1930, covered by individual
requisitions from your department, final shipping instructions to be
given not later than October 1, 1930.
Terms — 30 days net cash.
