RESOLUTION NO. 1561-87
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING JAMES V. BARCCME
FOR HIS TWO (2) YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AS
COUNCILMAN-AT-LARGE
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana,
acknowledges that JAMES V. BARCOME was elected by the precinct committee
members and began serving as Councilman-at-Large on January 18, 1986; and
WHEREAS, during this two year period, Councilman BARCOME has earned a
reputation of speaking out on behalf of his constituents on critical issues;
and
WHEREAS, Councilman BARCCME has also shown a keen awareness in fiscal
responsibility and in developing cost-effective methods and procedures; and
WHEREAS, Councilman BARCCME will be remembered for taking positive stands
on such issues as short and long-term street improvement plans; improved
traffic signalization, and orderly growth and development through proper
zoning which compliments residential areas; and
WHEREAS, the Cannon Council will long remember Councilman JAMES V.
BARCCME as a dedicated public servant who served our City well.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South
Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I . On behalf of the citizens of South Bend, Indiana, the Common
Council hereby publicly caamends and thanks Councilman JAMES V. BARCCME for
his two (2) years of dedicated service as a Councilman-at-Large.
SECTION II. The Cannon Council publicly acknowledges Councilman
BARCOME'S many contributions to help improve the quality of life in South
Bend, Indiana, and wishes Jim and his wife, Beverly, continued good fortune in
the years ahead. -
SECTION III . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect by the
Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
