AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION T'110 (2 1- OF ORDINANCE
NO. 1594 ADOPTED JUNE 125 1911, PROVIDING FOR THE
LICENSING OF TRANSIENT MFKRCHANTS, ;4HICH SECTION
IS ALSO SECTION 472 OF THE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND PUBLISHED IN VOLUME FORM AS ORDINANCE
NO. 1827 ADOPTED FEBRUARY 14, 1916.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
Section 1
That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1594 adopted June
122 1911, and being Section 472 of the compiled ordinances
published in volume form adopted February 14, 1916, be amended
to read as follows:
Any person desiring to do, transact or
engage in business as transient merchant in said
City shall file his application for a license for
that pvrpose with the City Controller, which appli-
cation shall state his name, his proposed place of
business, the kind of business proposed to be con-
ducted, and the length of time for vhich he de-
sires to do business, and at the same time; deposit
a receipt from the County 'Treasurer, mating as City
Treasurer, which receipt shall show that the appli-
cant has paid to said treasurer the sum of Twenty -
five Dollars ($25.00) per day for the first ten
days, or any part thereof for which said applicant
desires to engage in the business of transient
merchant, and Ten Dollars ($10.00) per day for
each day after said ten days in which said appli-
cant desires to so engage.No license shall be
good for more than one person, unless such persons
shall be co- partners; nor for more than one place
and this ordinance shall apply to persons who go
from place to place to sell goods and who engage
local merchants to sell such goods on commission.
Section 2
Violations of the terms of this ordinance shall be subject
to the same penalty of not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00), nor

more than One Hundred Dollars 0100.00), now provided as the
penalty for the violation of the section herewith amended.
Section 3
This - ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and legal publication.
