BRISCO RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE MIDWEST
Lawyers of Color named City of South Bend Corporation Counsel Cristal Brisco to its Hot List,
which recognizes 100 early- to mid - career minority attorneys under age 40 from the Midwest
Region.
" Cristal is a superb lawyer and has already made a tremendous impact since joining my
administration this spring," says Mayor Pete Buttigieg. "We are impressed, but not surprised, to
see her honored as one of the most talented young minority attorneys in the Midwest."
Prior to joining the City of South Bend in May as the administration's head lawyer, Brisco
practiced law at Barnes & Thornburg LLP. A native of northern Indiana, she graduated from
Valparaiso University in 2002 and received her law degree from the University of Notre Dame in
2006.
Brisco has been recognized as a "Rising Star" in Indiana Super Lawyers for business litigation
and employment litigation practice and she was named one of 15 "Up and Coming Lawyers" by
the Indiana Lawyer as part of its 2010 Leadership in Law Awards.
