B. Police Protection
The Annexation Area is located in the soon -to-be created Beat 16. Police
patrols, traffic enforcement and emergency responses will be a part of the
services the City will provide to the Annexation Area. Annexation of this area
will require the City of South Bend to budget and appropriate approximately
$7,600 per year to provide police protection to the Annexation Area. The
Annexation of this area will not result in the degradation of services to any
other area of the City.
C. Fire Protection
The South Bend Fire Department does not foresee any unusual fire protection
problems related to this development. The project is located within two miles
of Fire Station 10 at 308 West Ireland Road. Additional Fire. Department units
would respond, including Engine 8, which is located within two miles at 2402
Twyckenham.
The long range plan under which the Fire Department currently operates includes
a review of the need for additional personnel and equipment. The relocation of
Station #10 to the annexation area is also under consideration.
D. Neighborhood Code Enforcement
No additional personnel will need to be hired or additional equipment purchased
to service the Annexation Area.
E. Public Parks
No additional personnel will need to be hired or additional equipment purchased
to service the Annexation Area.
V. HIRING PLAN
This annexation will not result in the elimination of jobs of employees of
another governmental entity.
