RESOLUTION NO.-199-90
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA, DESIGNATING MAY 14 THROUGH MAY 18, 1990 AS
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK IN SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
WHEREAS, Teacher Appreciation Day was observed by all South
Bend Community School Corporation teachers on Friday, May
11, 1990; and
WHEREAS, it was a special day set aside to honor the
teachers in our community for devoting their professional
lives to our children; and
WHEREAS, the South Bend Common Council recognizes that the
theme for 1990 is "Teacher: An Investment in Excellence";
and
WHEREAS, the Common Council believes that it would be a
fitting and proper tribute to properly recognize all of the
teachers who have "dedicated themselves to the dynamic
learning process that never ends."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. On behalf of all the citizens of South Bend,
Indiana, the Common Council publicly commends all teachers
in our community for devoting their professional lives to
our children.
SECTION II. The Common Council hereby declares May 14
through May 18, 1990, as "Teacher Appreciation Week in South
Bend, Indiana."
SECTION III. The Common Council hereby encourages all
citizens to participate in this celebration in paying
tribute to our teachers.
SECTION IV. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and
approval by the Mayor. /17
