RESOLUTION NO. 1760 -89
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING ANN_B. PUZZELLO
FOR HER LEADERSHIP AS PRESIDENT OF THE COMMON
COUNCIL FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1989
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana, notes that Ann B. Puzzello was elected to serve as
President of the Common Council on January 1, 1989; and
WHEREAS, Council President Puzzello has fostered an
image of providing quality leadership over a bipartisan
Council,
WHEREAS, one of President Puzzello's greatest
achievements was overseeing the negotiations with the
Fraternal Order of Police which resulted in a multi -year
wage and benefit package being ratified; the first time this
was ever achieved in recent memory; and
WHEREAS, her caring attitude and unique ability to
balance her constituents and colleagues concerns and
requests have made her a dedicated public servant that will
long be remembered.
"SNOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of
the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. On behalf of all of the citizens of South
Bend, Indiana, the Common Council hereby publicly commends
Ann B. Puzzello for her leadership abilities as President of
the South Bend Common Council for the calendar year 1989.
SECTION II. The Common Council wishes Ann B. Puzzello
further success as she continues to serve the public as 4th
District Council Member in 1990.
SECTION III. This Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council
and approval by the Mayor.
