Mayor RESOLUTION NO. 1913 -92 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PUBLICLY COMMENDING SANDY COMBS FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the Common Council acknowledges that Sandy Combs served as its appointee to the South Bend Redevelopment Commission since January of 1985; and WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission, pursuant to Indiana State Law, has specific authority in the areas of land acquisition, selling and leasing property; remodeling; rebuilding and maintenance; and providing financial assistance for redevelopment purposes; and WHEREAS, during that period of time, the South Bend Redevelopment Authority, as a separate entity of the City financed several local public improvements which were then leased to the South Bend Redevelopment Commission; and WHEREAS, the developments in the East Bank, the Studebaker Corridor, the West Washington Revitalization Area, Airport Project 2010, and the Downtown, are just some of the many positive programs promoted and developed with the assistance of the Redevelopment Commission; and WHEREAS, Sandy Combs has brought financial expertise, dedication and leadership through his position as a Commissioner, which has resulted in jobs, new construction and improvements benefitting our entire City. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: SECTION I. The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, hereby publicly commends SANDY COMBS for his many years of dedicated service to the South Bend Redevelopment Commission. SECTION II. The Council sincerely thanks SANDY COMBS for his many contributions and the giving of his time, expertise, and dedication which have enlightened and set a positive tone for the redevelopment throughout our City. SECTION III. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
