Presented by me to the Mayor of the City of South Bend, September 22, 92 9 Approved and signed by me_ 'I) J-) �2'Y�' (x 19!� Clerk Mayor RESOLUTION NO. /9 7,2 - is A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CONGRATULATING THE SOUTHEAST LITTLE LEAGUE ALL -STARS FOR WINNING THE INDIANA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE MAJOR BOYS' DIVISION. WHEREAS, the Common Council notes that each Spring thousands of boys and girls throughout the nation proudly take the "Little League Pledge" on opening day; and WHEREAS, Little League brings the hopes and dreams of youngsters, and their parents into a unique combination of working with League Officials, Managers, Coaches, Umpires, Auxiliary Members, and countless volunteer agencies and sponsors representing a cross section of the community; and WHEREAS, the Common Council is proud to acknowledge that for die first time in South Bend history, the Indiana State Championship was won by the Southeast Little League All -Stars in the Major Boys' Division; and WHEREAS, the Common Council is proud to acknowledge each of the members of this winning team: Tyler Back Andy Buda Ryan Cosner Ben Dance Ted Dobosiewicz Garret Ginter Josh Howell Aaron Kuser Tony Mathews James Palen David St. Clair Jeff Steele Nate VanLaere Caleb Wilson Stan Mathews, Manager Phil St. Clair, Coach Chuck Steele, Equip. Mgr. WHEREAS, this group of l I and 12 year old boys had an overall record of 17 wins and 3 loses, and out hit their opponents with a record 110 runs to only 48 runs being scored by their opposition. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: SECTION I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council hereby publicly congratulates the Southeast Little League All -Star Team for winning the first State Championship in the history of our City in die Major Boys' Division. SECTION II, The Common Council publicly acknowledges each of these young men, their coaches, managers, parents, and sponsors for their willingness to strive for excellence and for being proud examples of our community in achieving the goals of the Little League Pledge.
