AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM
THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BENT; TO ACCOUNT UNDER THE
BOARD OF PT?BLIC WORKS FOR REPAIR OF FIFE STATIOP ?S, THIS
SUM BEING THE AMOUNT NECESSARY TO MEET THE BIDS OF
THE PROPOSED IMPROV-TENT TO #2 FIRE STATION IN
EXCESS OF THE NINETY- ;FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS
APPROPRIATED IN THE 1937 BUDGET.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana:
Section I., That the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) be
and the same is hereby appropriated from the general fund of the
City of South Bend to the account under the Board of Public Yorks
for the repair of fire stations, it being the intention of this
ordinance to supplement the sum of Ninety -Five Hundred Dollars
($9500.00) appropriated in the 1937 Budget for the purpose of
improving #2 Fire Station, and it appearing to the Council that
the-low bids for the improvement necessary for said fire station
show a deficit of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) of the fund
allowed for this purpose and thus creating an 'emergency,if the work
is to be performed for this station, and it farther appearing to
the Council that the labor, costsare an the increase and the City
of South Bend will be without a fire station within a very short
time for this section of the City, unless this sum is appropriated,
this Council b7T this ordinance finds that an emergency exists for
the appropriation of this additional amount and is made with the
idea in mind of enabling the Board of Public works and Safety to
confirm the low bids on the ..improvement of said #2 Fire Station
when this appropriation has been officially approved by the State
Tax Board.
Section II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passages legal publication, signature by the Mayor, Public
hearing and approval by the State Tax Board.
I recommend passage of the foregoing ordinance this
